Bowlers Tom Padmore (3-11) and Tom Spearman (2-3) were integral to York’s Under-13s victory over Malton and Old Malton despite a flurry of resistance from the losing side’s batting line-up.

They stormed to a seven-wicket win, a feat which was matched by Sheriff Hutton Bridge who beat Clifton Alliance by eclipsing their total of 65 runs with room to spare.

Ovington and Heworth were the other victors in zone ‘B’ as they beat Acomb and Clifton Alliance respectively.

Both sides won comfortably, in particular Ovington who posted an impressive total of 104.

In zone ‘A’, Pocklington were in similarly rude health with the bat, amassing 130 against a Dringhouses side that fell a long way short in their reply.

Completing the fixure programme, there were victories for Thixendale and Bolton Percy.

Andrew Shepherd top-scored with 33 for Bolton Percy as they set Acomb ‘B’ a target of 124. The ‘B’ side’s reply fell short by 55 runs.

In zone ‘C’, Stamford Bridge suffered an agonising defeat after they fell nine runs short when chasing the 97 set by York ‘B’.

Jack Spofforth and Oliver Peek-Vout starred again for Dunnington as they scored 31 and 30 as their side dominated against Bishopthorpe.

Londesborough Park remain unbeaten in zone ‘C’ despite a shaky batting performance against Selby. Luckily for the victors the Selby innings closed on 50 runs.
