I recently received the first edition of Your Voice – apparently this is City of York Council’s new means of telling us how good they are.
Surprisingly, however, there is no mention of the Union Terrace car park sell-off debate (the overwhelming local view, judging from the comments in The Press is “no”).
I also note that the council is lauding £4.65 million (bottom; inside; back page for those who may miss it) awarded for congestion busting at the same time they are trying to save £75,000 through curtailing the bus services 14 and 22 here in Skelton, Rawcliffe and Clifton.
I fear that Your Voice will turn out to be another party-political propagandist waste of money. On the front page Coun Alexander asks for ideas.
Well, here is one – stop publishing this rubbish and put the money towards providing the services the city really needs.
