David Botttomley (Letters, July 13) provides a helpful answer to Mrs Goodrick’s question about the role of a school’s learning resource manager.

Mrs Goodrick has reached a venerable age, but if her health and mobility will permit, perhaps it could be arranged with the learning resource centre manager at Tadcaster Grammar School for her to be shown round the centre there? Mrs Goodrick’s contributions to The Press’s letters page must go back over many decades.

Were she to share with some of the school’s pupils some memories of her schooldays in the 1920s, and of the hard times which people went through in the great depression of the 1930s, Mrs Goodrick would be a learning resource in herself.
