I am writing to give the residents of Westfield ward an update on a couple of issues we are taking up on your behalf in the areas near Tedder Road and Chesney Fields.

A new set of goalposts was erected on the Tedder Road playing area on Friday and the new fence should be up in the near future, to help local youngsters to play football safely away from the road and parked cars.

We know that the problem of footballs and children going quickly into the road there has been ongoing for a long time and we very much hope this will help to address the issue.

In terms of the antisocial behaviour in the cut-through by Chesney Fields, we are working closely with the local police to find a solution to the problem.

This may include options such as gating, lighting and structural changes to make the cut-through more open and a less attractive place for antisocial behaviour.

My ward colleagues Dafydd Williams, Lynn Jeffries and I will continue to keep you updated on these and other issues.
