ON Saturday, June 25, the York Actionaid Group held a collection at Monks Cross Shopping Centre. Actionaid helps the poorer people of the world to help themselves.
When many have to live on the equivalent of 85p to 95p per day, it is easy to understand how difficult life must be.
In these straitened times it is difficult for many of us to give to charities, but fortunately a goodly number did give and we raised £220.33.
We thank, most sincerely, those who gave donations of money and time to help us raise this satisfactory amount.
