BELT and braced up – that’s the treat in store for mixed martial arts fans at the Cage Confrontation 3 show.

The 16-fight bill at York’s Energise Centre at Oaklands on Saturday will feature no fewer than six contests vying for title belts.

That guarantees fans the best so far of the three Cage Confrontation shows run by the United Masters Promotions duo of Gaz Watkinson and Tony Dias.

Headlining is the WRSA men’s heavyweight Commonwealth full contact kickboxing title bout between York’s Billy Wilson, fighting under the United Masters banner, and Michael Mann (Warriors Kickboxing Club).

The show, which starts at 6pm, also features a clash between York Martial Arts Academy’s Stu Phillips and Mikey Worswick (Kokoro Kickboxing Club) for the WRSA men’s British full contact title at 75 kilogrammes.

Dias, of the United Martial Arts College in Norton, recently won his ninth British title.

Both he and Watkinson, who runs the Multi Masters Academy in Layerthorpe, also had successes in the recent ISKA kickboxing championships in Birmigham.

Watkinson’s son Sam got silver and Faith Watkinson gold, while Dias’ club members – Martins Baulkins, Kieran Gill and Mehmet Tuysuz – got gold, gold and bronze respectively.

For Cage Confrontation 3 tickets – £40 VIP; £25 standard; £10 under-14s – phone Watkinson on 07798 765259 or Dias on 07956 612667.
