THE Archbishop of York joined staff and pupils at a North Yorkshire College for the burial of a time capsule at a new campus.
Dr John Sentamu was due to attend the official opening of Selby College’s new Abbot’s Road site on June 9, but was unable to attend after he had his appendix removed and was kept in hospital to recover for almost two weeks. The new facilities at the college, which originally opened 27 years ago, include dedicated engineering rooms and the capsule contains issues of local newspapers, to show students who open it in 25 years time images and the history of the town.
