I HAVE been a builder all my life and have constructed many roadways and footpaths.
I have walked the entire length of footpaths in Gillygate and can find nothing wrong with them.
Replacing this paving with sale proceeds from the Union Terrace car park would be a gross waste of taxpayer’s money.
We don’t need new footpaths in Gillygate. We need the Union Terrace car and coach park to remain in operation to serve the shops in Gillygate and the businesses in the city centre.
There was never any mention of this sale of land to the university prior to the recent election. Why didn’t the Labour group include it in its manifesto? There has been no public consultation over this major proposal. The first we hear of it is when it is announced in The Press.
This is not democracy. This is secrecy and autocracy. It is deplorable and unacceptable.
