A CHARITY started by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, which provides financial support to families across the country, will celebrate its first anniversary today.
The online charity, Acts435, originally ran as a pilot project across Yorkshire and the north east, and has already given £22,000 to more than 520 people who face economic hardship.
Dr Sentamu said: “You may think that during an economic downturn that people would be less likely to give money to those suffering, but our experience has been the opposite.”
