A SUSPECTED burglar who allegedly bit a police officer after being chased from a house in Harrogate has been released on conditional bail.
The man was arrested after running from the home in Bilton on Wednesday at about 10.30pm, when he was discovered by the owner.
After fleeing in the direction of St John’s Church, the 24-year-old suspect was eventually found hiding under a car.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said an officer suffered a “bite injury to his arm during the arrest” and was treated at Harrogate District Hospital before returning to duty.
