Acomb Hockey Club’s annual presentation dinner at the Elmbank Hotel – organised by Kate Oldfield – was headed by a special event.
The award of clubman of the year went to Dave Quarrie.
He was also presented with a commemorative box containing several of his hockey playing mementoes, following his retirement from the sport after 43 years with Acomb HC (and formerly Phoenix HC).
Graham Ibbetson won both the sportsman of the year and second team player of the year awards, while the men’s first team award went to Craig Brown by a landslide. Jane Wallace was presented with the lady player of the year cup.
Leading goal scorers in their respective sections were Matt Dickenson and Wendy Watson.
The respective most improved players were Dan Pratt and Emily Watson.
