AN INTERNATIONAL karate champion from York accused of raping a 13-year-old girl has been released on bail.
Liam O’Grady, 29, of Larchfield, Osbaldwick, will appear at York Crown Court next week to face four charges of sexual assault against the girl, including rape and sexual grooming.
The karate instructor appeared before York Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and was yesterday granted bail on condition he lives at an address in Flintshire, North Wales.
His bail conditions also mean he must not contact the girl he is accused of raping or any member of her family, nor have any unsupervised access to anybody under 16 and not enter North Yorkshire except to attend court or meetings with his legal representatives.
