Updated: THE driver of this HGV was rushed to hospital after the vehicle overturned on an East Yorkshire road.
The accident happened at about 10am yesterday on the A166 east of Stamford Bridge and resulted in the closure of the road for most of the day.
Humberside Fire & Rescue Service said the driver was freed using two sets of hydraulic rescue equipment.
Officers also made the lorry safe by disconnecting the battery before helping with the clear-up operation.
It is understood the driver suffered chest injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.
The incident saw the road closed in both directions and motorists were diverted onto alternative routes.
