A TEENAGER who ran away from police after being caught with mephedrone in his pocket has been given a rehabilitation and supervision order.
The 16-year-old from the Selby area was stopped in Millgate but ran away when an officer found a packet of a controlled substance in his jacket pocket.
During the chase the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, damaged a fence in Coupland Road, York Youth Court heard.
He pleaded guilty to possession of 0.201 grams of mephedrone, a Class B drug.
He also admitted criminal damage to a fence and resisting a police officer.
Magistrates ordered the youth to undergo a rehabilitation order with a supervision order for six months and to pay £85 in costs.
