A YOUNG student committed suicide months after leaving his course at the University of York, an inquest has heard.
Thomas William Robinson, 21, of Bransdale Crescent, Osbaldwick, had a history of depression, York Coroner’s Court heard.
The day before his death, Mr Robinson told his partner, Keith Melvin Worrall, that he had left his university course in maths and computing four months earlier. Mr Robinson was found hanged in the garage of the property in April last year. Notes were found in Mr Robinson’s bedroom that were “consistent as a wish to end his life”, the inquest heard.
Recording a verdict of suicide, Coroner Donald Coverdale said: “He has died by his own hand and has taken his life in the garage of his home.
“There’s some record of him suffering from depression and it may be that his mood at this time had reached a low ebb.”
