A YORK man has been arrested after ball bearings were fired at a car near a court.
The 40-year-old from Huntington was accused of possessing an offensive weapon after a catapult was used to fire shots at a black 4x4 in Chelmsford on Monday.
The arrest followed a disturbance outside Chelmsford County Court that started at about 11am. The incident spilled on to nearby New London Road and Parkway and ended in the ball bearings being fired and a collision.
Essex Police said afterwards it involved a dispute between people who already knew each other.
The Huntington man has been released on bail and ball bearings and a catapult have been recovered by police.
