I GOT into a taxi outside the Gallery nightclub early Sunday morning only to discover the driver was from Huddersfield and couldn’t take me.

This puzzled me and I said so, as that is a taxi pick-up point I was expecting to be taken home.

When I could not get him to elaborate on why he was parked there, I went to get out of the taxi, tripped and fell into the street, twisting my knee and ankle, and breaking my toe. I was upset and in a lot of pain, but no one helped me.

The taxi driver drove off without giving me any assistance and taking my purse in the process (I had taken it out of my bag and must have dropped it in the taxi when I fell).

Three points: no one came to my assistance even though bouncers were around and other people joined me at the taxi stand; my purse has not been handed in; and that driver should not have been parked there if he was not from York.

I am now hurt, and without my driving licence, bank card and other sentimental items.
