A NORTH Yorkshire amateur sports club has been granted £1,000 from SportsAid.
Selby District Disability Sport Forum is one of 16 UK clubs to benefit from the national Cash 4 Clubs funding, and has been granted the cash to develop regular sports sessions for disabled and non-disabled adults, children and young people.
James Chapman, committee member, said: “This grant will benefit us in many ways. We are using the £1,000 to establish a regular inclusive new-age kurling session. “Our organisation is all about developing sport and physical activity opportunities for disabled people, while increasing participation in sport by disabled and non-disabled people, and that is exactly what our kurling sessions will do.”
Sports clubs can now apply for the next round of Cash 4 Clubs funding of up to £1,000, to be announced in July, by filling out an application online at cash-4-clubs.com
