I WOULD like to bring to the attention of your readers an incident involving my daughter at about 7pm one evening last week.

From Poppleton Road, driving on Water End, she was at the traffic lights waiting to turn right into Salisbury Terrace.

Two “hoodies” approached her car on either side and tried to open her front doors, which luckily were locked.

Being unable to open the doors they then proceeded to bang on her roof and windows. Fortunately, the lights changed and she was able to drive away.

One can only assume they were trying to steal her handbag and/or mobile phone or even the car.

Are there not CCTV cameras covering this area?

It’s a shame the police did not visit her on the evening of the incident to take fingerprints, as promised, then perhaps with the addition of a description they might have been able to have done something about it.
