SECTIONS of three York roads will be closed this month to allow work to be carried out.

Vehicles will be prevented from travelling along Haxby Road, in New Earswick, between its junctions with Lucombe Way and the outer ring road between 9.15am and 4pm from April 11 to April 29 due to resurfacing.

Gas works will lead to the northbound lane of Navigation Road, in the city centre, near its junction with Walmgate being closed from today until Friday, while water works mean Micklegate will be shut to traffic close to its junction with George Hudson Street from tomorrow until Friday.

The footpath on Kent Street between Fawcett Street and Fishergate has also been closed until April 30 because of demolition and building work in the area.

Alternative routes are being put in place while all the closures are in force.
