I BELIEVE that millions were spent on extending the bus lanes in Malton Road as far as the Monks Cross roundabout.
I wonder to what avail, as I frequently see buses waiting at the traffic lights at the end of the bus lanes while the rest of the traffic goes ahead.
Some bus drivers have decided to use the normal lanes instead.
What has gone wrong? Is this just another massive waste of money?

- A City of York council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the Park&Ride service is not subsidised by the taxpayers of the city, but actually contributes to our overall budget through the fee paid by our contractor.
"It is also worth pointing out that one bus can in a length of around 11 metres - transport as many people as there would be in a line of cars 78 metres long.
"This is assuming that all car seats are used, which is a rarity.
"The city would therefore be far more congested if we didn't have the bus services that we have."
