SCHOOL children from New Earswick Primary School in York had a taste of life outside school during their enterprise day.
The whole school of about 210 youngsters took part in the day on Monday which was run by Young Enterprise and was intended to raise children’s aspirations and awareness of possible careers.
Assistant head teacher Kirsty Clayton, who was one of the organisers, said: “The day was a huge success – the Joseph Rowntree Association kindly helped fund the project and volunteers from businesses, some of them governors, gave up their time free of charge to come in and help run a whole range of activities for every year group.
“The children absolutely loved it and the staff were so impressed we’re hoping to hold the same event again next year.”
