POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing an East Yorkshire student who went missing a year ago today.

Russell Bohling, a student at Bishop Burton College, was last seen by his family on Tuesday March 2, last year, when he was aged 18.

His car was later discovered at the car park at Bempton Cliffs, near Bridlington.

Humberside Police said yesterday that officers had taken every step available to identify his whereabouts.

“This has included numerous CCTV inquiries and physical searches both inside and outside the force area,” said a spokesman.

“Land, sea and air searches have been carried out in conjunction with the coastguard, as well as specialist searches with the fire brigade at underground locations around Bempton Cliffs.”

Inspector Colin Waddington said that despite all the searches, nothing had come to light.

“I urge the public to come forward if they know anything about Russell and his disappearance,” he said.

“If anyone saw anything of Russell a year ago, or spoke to him about his intentions at that time, please contact us and share with us what you know.”

Russell, from near Hull, is described as white, about 5ft 8ins with a medium build. He had short, straight brown hair.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to phone Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222 quoting log 55 03/03/10.
