JANE BARNES starred for Flag ‘B’ as they beat Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Barnes checked out on 118 for an 18-dart leg that also included a maximum and then teamed up with Dot Trousdale to seal the 7-4 victory.

Tracey Farmeary gamed in 23 darts – a feat matched by Bev Harton and Lynne Clapham in the pairs – as Cueball ‘B’ trounced Flag ‘A’ 10-1. Sharon Neads prevented the whitewash.

Walnut Tree were also 10-1 victors over Tramways ‘A’ after a clean sweep in the singles. Karen Alton and Sam Barr paired up to prevent a clean sweep.

Leaders Cygnet were 6-3 winners at Burnholme, whose Marj Pearson hit a 180.

Ruth Norman and Carole Layne secured victory for Tramways ‘B’ against Beeswing, whose top performer was Nikki Judson.

Division two leaders Clifton tumbled to a 6-3 loss at Shepherd ‘A’, who won all the pairs after the sides were locked at 3-3 in the singles.

St Paul’s won by the same margin at Woolpack after clearing up in the pairs. The winning surge started when Julie Stables closed 70 with a bull finish in the pairs with Donna Lynes.

Burton WMC had victory sealed before the pairs at Acomb ‘A’, with captain Linda Embleton clinching the points to take her team second.

Severus slipped up, losing 6-3 to visitors Leeman ‘B’, while Cueball ‘A’s mother and daughter team of Sue Smith and Faye Hawksby snatched victory at Red Lion.

Acomb ‘B’ top division three after winning all the pairs to beat Sun 6-3.

Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ are only a point adrift after a 7-4 win over visitors Slip. Tracy Green and Nat Whitehead were the match-winners.

Mount also left it late as Joyce Kane and Sue Gillan clinched a win over Shepherd ‘B’, whose Ann North hit the big scores.

Jubilee beat Swan 7-4 and excellent scoring from Amanda Kirby and Natalie Brown led Beagle to a 6-3 triumph against Dick Turpin.

Margaret Yeomans helped Leeman ‘A’ to a 6-3 success against Red Lion.
