THE family of a young man who died following a night out in York have marked the anniversary of his death.
Jonathan Havron’s family ran a stall at Murton car boot sale to raise more than £300 for the British Heart Foundation, the charity for which Jonathan used to volunteer.
Eighteen-year-old Jonathan, from Huntington, was found drowned in the River Foss after going missing on February 27 last year, following a night out. His family and friends said they intend raising money to mark the anniversary of his death every year.
Joanne Wigmore, Jonathan’s mum, said: “Jonathan volunteered for the British Heart Foundation in Goodramgate because his nana died after a heart attack.
“On the anniversary of his death we wanted to do something constructive in his memory.
“Even though he is not with us any, more we see it as a celebration of his life.”
