The small group of objectors to the original Barbican redevelopment plans who are responsible for the delays have a lot to answer for.
Were it not for their ill-judged opposition then we would be looking forward to a new leisure centre and pool opening on the Kent Street site in January, with more homes and a hotel (producing around 100 new jobs), also being well on the way to completion.
Rodents are, incidentally, attracted to food.
Provided car park users do not dump any foodstuffs there, the area should be no more likely to attract rodents than any other urban space.
