ALTHOUGH a car lover, I do try and take the green option and use the Park&Ride when I can.

Due to roadworks and disruptions, I have had to get on the buses at different stops lately and have been bemused by exactly where to stand at the bus stops around the station.

Getting on at Askham Bar or Rawcliffe Bar is straightforward – the bus stops at the display board at the end of the shelters.

Around the station, this seems to be reversed.

Just the other day, I had to use a bus stop I hadn’t utilised before just after watching the bus pull away.

Not knowing which end started a queue, I sat in the middle of the seats in the shelter.

Four people approached me and asked which was the end of the queue.

I know we are in times of austerity, but would it cost so much for a few stickers that say: “Queue from here”?
