A CANDLELIT vigil is to be held in York Minster tomorrow to mark the 37th birthday of missing York chef Claudia Lawrence.
Claudia’s father Peter Lawrence is holding the meditative event, A Vigil For The Missing, to mark the birthday of his daughter who vanished nearly two years ago.
Those attending will gather in St Helen’s Square from 2pm before an informal procession along Stonegate and Deangate, entering the Minster through the West Door at about 2.45pm.
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, and the Dean, Keith Jones, will greet the procession at the Minster door and speak at the vigil which will take place at the High Altar.
All present will have the opportunity to light a candle for all those missing and their families.
Claudia, a chef at the University of York, has been missing since March 18, 2009.
