A MAN has been jailed for raping and imprisoning a teenager in Bridlington.
Ryan Ashman, 26, of Tennyson Avenue in Bridlington, was sentenced to five years for five counts of rape and one count of false imprisonment of a 16-year-old Bridlington girl.
The crimes were committed in August 2010, police said.
Ashman is required to sign the sex offenders register for life, a police spokesman said.
Following the verdict at Hull Crown Court, Det Con Dean Smith said: "I would like to praise the courage of the victim in coming forward which has led to the imprisonment of this man. "Officers worked hard to bring this man to justice and I hope that now the victim can move on with her life."
