A Selby husband and his family are embarking on a fundraising mission in memory of a wife and mum who died of cancer.
Jean Anderson died last year, only three months after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Her husband, local plumber Malcolm Anderson, and his family are to take part in various events, hoping to raise £3,000 in sponsorship for Cancer Research.
Malcolm and his son Mark, 34, are to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon and also the Great North Run accompanied by Mark’s wife, Helen, 33.
Malcolm and Mark will also swim across Lake Windermere in July to mark the first anniversary of Jean’s death.
Mark will run 130 miles across northern England from coast to coast in five days, accompanied by his dad, who will cycle the course as backup.
Daughters Dawn Kelly, 31, Deborah Latibeaudiere, 27, and daughter-in-law Helen are also competing in 10K and 5K runs to raise cash.
