City of York Athletics Club veteran athlete Colin Shafto successfully defended his M75 pentathlon title at the British Masters Indoor Multi-event Championships at the Lee Valley Athletic Centre.
The UK record holder, although hampered by a calf injury in his speciality event, the 60 metres hurdles, clocked 13.48 seconds.
Shafto long-jumped 3 metres 17 centrimetres, put the shot 8.17, cleared 1.24 in the high jump, and ran 1,000m in five minutes 11.30 seconds to finish with a total score of 2,943pts.
