The good folk from Hogg the Builder have been busy… building.

This week we can report on not one, not two, but three projects from the York-based quality homes developer.

And, as you might expect from Hogg – and regular readers will know we are long time fans of Hogg homes – they are all top quality projects.

The builders have certainly not been resting on their laurels. They have brought in a top interior designer to work on their new showhome at Brigg Lane, Long Acre, Camblesforth (in case you don’t know the geography that is a lovely little rural village six miles out of Selby).

It’s the first showhome at the site to feature the work of Hogg’s New Homes Adviser, Debra Calvert. Debra joined the company in 2007 and has worked at its sites in Cliffe, and Sherburn-in-Elmet prior to the Camblesforth.

When the decision was taken to make the ‘Foston’ style house into a showhome.

Debra took on the interior design challenge and has produced a beautifully stylish showcase for the development.

We could wax lyrical for a few hundred words about the style, but it might just be easier for you to have a look at the pictures here and see for yourself. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words (according to photographers, anyway).

We can use words, however, to tell you that there are ten properties remaining at the Long Acre development with prices ranging from £139,950 to £209,950 (great value for Hogg quality houses).

Long Acre is a mix of two and three-bedroom homes, with a selection of link detached, semi-detached and terrace-style houses (and two three-bedroomed link detached dormer bungalows).

The village of Camblesforth itself (and why do we keep wanting to use the phrase lark rise to Camblesforth?) has a good range of local amenities including shops, a chippie, two pubs and good transport links.

Well worth a look, we would suggest.

As is the second of our featured Hogg projects this week, the company’s development at New Forge Court, Haxby which features some of the company’s best-selling house designs, the Linthorpe, the Middlethorpe and the Farndale (only now, say Hogg, they have improved new ‘high tech’ specs).

This is a pretty exclusive development, with just five homes on the site. These include the Farndale, a traditional cottage style property featuring open beams and an inglenook fireplace with a multi-fuel stove. On the ground floor, there is a sitting room and dining room and a kitchen that opens up into a large light and spacious family room. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with fitted wardrobes and an ensuite plus a guest bedroom with en-suite. There are two further bedrooms and a hobby/study area.

The Linthorpe has a similar layout and finish to the Farndale, but is a Victorian inspired property blended with smart contemporary touches including gloss kitchens and feature fireplaces.

The Middlethorpe stands at the end of the development and has a light and airy feel from the spacious hallway, through the large living room with French doors, a superb kitchen and family room (again with French doors) and a front dining room. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with fitted wardrobes and an en-suite plus a guest bedroom with en-suite. Again, there are two further bedrooms and also a fifth bedroom/study.

The property also boasts a detached double garage with a studio above, ideal for a home office, games room, gym or teenager’s den (or just the spot for a home-based property writer we might add).

The marketing suite for New Forge Court, on Towthorpe Road on the edge of the village, is open on Mondays from 1pm to 5pm and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.

And finally, just a note to let you know that just one home remains in another exclusive Hogg development, this time a discreet collection of ten properties at Roxby Farm, in Main Street, Elvington. This is a big and beautiful four-bed house which comes with its own orchard (posh or what?) and the chance to lease a paddock and the use of equestrian facilities. It has a large sitting room, a study, a sprawling kitchen/dining/family room and separate utility room. Two of the four bedrooms have en-suite facilities. It is priced at £629,950.
