I’D LIKE to thank the staff of First Bus York for the help and courtesy shown to my husband and myself when he lost his wallet on the Number 10 bus between Dunnington and York last Friday.
When we realised that the wallet, which contained quite a large sum of money, was missing, we asked a bus driver for the phone number to check if it had been handed in. He contacted the office and discovered that a wallet had been found; he then told us to take the bus at the stop opposite to Tanner Row.
Since we were visiting from Scotland, we had no idea where we needed to go. This driver called us at the stop and as he was going on a break he walked with us to the office. En route, he phoned ahead. Someone was waiting to show us the to lost property, where my husband was able to identify he wallet and have it returned.
The driver of our bus had found it and taken it straight to the office. We would like to thank everyone concerned, especially the driver of the Number 10 bus for his honesty.
Agnes and George MacDonald, Stirlingshire.
