THE reader alleging that the electorate was fooled into voting the Tories “back in” is obviously on a different planet, even though his Labour did waste three terms getting “us back on track” (Letters, February 12).

The Tories did not win the election, nobody did. In their wisdom, two of the parties agreed to form a Coalition to get the country back on to the right track.

When the Labour government was tracking along, history also repeated Itself. Remember Harold Wilson and James Callaghan both led regimes that left the country in dire straits.
