A MAN posed as a police officer to get into the home of a pensioner and steal his money.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the thief entered the property in Sweyne Garth, Swinefleet, Goole at about 4pm on Sunday after telling the 84-year-old homeowner he was a policeman and neededcheck his money following a spate of crime in the area.
The victim retrieved some bank notes from a drawer and man grabbed it and fled in a silver vehicle.
