A VAN driver has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a lorry in North Yorkshire.
Firefighters and police are currently at the scene of the smash on the A19 near Barlby in the Selby area.
The collision occurred at about 1.30pm, at the junction of the A19 and A63.
Two vehicles are involved, a foreign registered HGV and a Fiat van.
The driver of the van has been airlifted to York Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the HGV sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff. He has since been arrested in connection with the collision.
The road is closed and is expected to remain closed for at least the next three hours while collision investigators examine the scene.
