POLICE have closed their investigation into last week’s bomb scare at the Aviva headquarters in York city centre.
They say they are satisfied that the suspect package which sparked the alert, later found to contain a pair of gloves, had been sent in good faith, with no intention to cause alarm. They say the call to the emergency services was also well-intentioned.
Much of the city centre was cordoned off for several hours, and Army bomb disposal experts were called in, after the packaged was found in the mailroom at Yorkshire House in Rougier Street last Wednesday.
