A LATE leveller denied City of York Hockey Club Ladies I as they drew 1-1 at home to Crewe in North League division one.
The home side took the lead through Ali Butler just before half-time.
York’s defence and player of the match Jenna Gallagher kept Crewe out for the majority of the second half, but the visitors equalised late on.
Meanwhile, City of York Ladies II went down 4-0 at table-topping Halifax in Yorkshire League division one.
York trailed 3-0 at half-time despite some good saves from player of the match Michelle Powell and solid tackling from Jacqui Birch.
The visitors failed to capitalise on a number of chances in the second half and Halifax added a fourth goal.
