HARRY Potter fans are being offered the chance to indulge their imaginations at a half-term holiday event at the National Railway Museum (NRM).

Visitors to the attraction in Leeman Road, York, will be able to take rides behind the film’s Hogwarts Castle steam train. To promote the Wizard Week event, a Platform 9¾ sign has been installed by the York Minster road train stop.

The museum is also hosting owl displays and performances by wizards.

Dawn Theaker, of the NRM, said: “Wannabe witches and wizards could not ask for a more magical experience this half-term.

“From the moment they board the road train from Platform 9¾ to riding behind Hogwarts Castle, a star of the Harry Potter films, visitors will have a jam-packed day that will be magic-filled from start to finish.”

One-way rides on the road train cost £1 for children and £2 for adults.
