PARENTS and head teachers in East Yorkshire are being urged to carry out checks before they book limousines for school prom events.
A spot-check staged by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s licensing team last summer at one school in the district found two limos being used by parents of pupils there were unlicensed, uninsured and serving alcohol to under-18s.
Anyone wanting to check on a limo operator or vehicle should phone the licensing team, which will carry out more spot-checks this summer, on 01482 396296/7 or e-mail licensing@eastriding.gov.uk
