FLORISTS kickstarted a National Railway Museum model-making competition by unveiling their own version of the famous Flying Scotsman made entirely of flowers.
The museum is inviting members of the public to create a model of Flying Scotsman to be in with a chance to win a ride behind the iconic locomotive once her restoration is completed this summer.
Helen Ashby, head of knowledge and collections at the museum, said: “This competition is about giving everyone, young and old, the chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime prize.
“We’re not necessarily looking for the most accurate model of Flying Scotsman – we’re looking for a really creative, and unique model.
“We don’t mind what it’s made of, be it clay, Lego, lollipop sticks or even flowers!
“Hopefully entries will come flying in.”
The model must be restricted to a maximum of 120cm long, 60cm wide and 40cm high.
