Ram raiders smashed through the front of a newsagents in Purley on Friday causing £10,000 of damage.

The four-wheel drive careered straight into the sub post office on Old Lodge Lane just before 4am on April 20, destroying the shop's front.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in nearby woods.

A Post Office spokesman confirmed nothing was taken from the postal section of the shop but police have not disclosed how much was stolen from the newsagents.
