POLICE have issued a warning to New Year’s Eve revellers that booze-fuelled disorder will not be tolerated. Extra officers will be in the city centre’s busiest streets and around York Minster, which traditionally acts as a focal point in the city for revellers.

Paramedics will be on stand-by to deal with any emergencies.

The road in front of the Minster will be shut from 10pm to 2am and additional security staff will be employed to work with police.
