Mick Kenyon turned in his best performance of the season in division one of the CE Electric Table Tennis League.

He claimed the scalps of John Farmery and Tony Reed, as he won his singles and helped Crescent ‘B’ to a draw at Holgate ‘A’.

Paul Robertson and Jane Cohen proved too strong for Bootham ‘B’, who went down 8-2 to RI ‘B’.

RI ‘E’ stretched their lead at the top of division two, thanks to maximum hauls from Alan Balmforth and Filip Wojtkowiak in their 8-2 success at Shepherds ‘C’, who had earlier gone down 6-4 at Sessions ‘A’, whose Mike Robinson was in good form.

John Freeman, pictured, shone as he guided Crescent ‘C’ to an 8-2 win over promotion rivals Shepherds ‘B’.

Bootham ‘C’ suffered a blow to their title aspirations as they went down 7-3 to a strong University ‘A’ side, who had Tim Ang, unbeaten this season, and Frank Cheung to thank.

Ang, however, was unable to prevent a defeat by the same score at the hands of Shepherds ‘B’, though he was once again unbeaten in a draw with RI ‘D’.

In division three, CE Electric returned to the top of the table after a 9-1 success over Aviva ‘B’, with Dave Robinson and Nigel Reeson unbeaten.

BT ‘A’ dropped to second after they were held to a draw by Bootham ‘E’, despite George Morrison being undefeated.

Howard Lewis was in fine form as he won his three singles for Aviva ‘B’, but it was not enough to halt his side losing 7-3 to BT ‘B’.

Sessions ‘B’ are second in division four after Pete Taylor won an epic tussle with Ray Holroyd by 13-11 in the final game to ensure a 6-4 victory over Hartrigg Oaks.

Third-placed RI H have games in hand of those above them, but they were unable to cope with Bootham ‘F’ ace Lee Poulter, although they emerged as 7-3 winners.
