A 62-YEAR-old man who was hit twice by a car on Lendal Bridge, York on Thursday night, is in a stable condition in Harrogate hospital.

Police are looking for witnesses to the incident in which the man was knocked down by a car and then hit again by the same car while he was on the ground.

The car, a silver-coloured Peugeot 206, which was travelling from the direction of York Minster, knocked the man down as he tried to cross the road from the nearside of the vehicle.
