City of York Council is preparing for more snow, which may hit York during the next few days, by adding extra routes to the gritting network.

Nineteen secondary routes have been added to the existing network, which includes the following streets: Bad Bargain Lane, Balfour Way, Earswick Chase, Eastfield Lane, Garden Flats Lane, Church Lane (Skelton), Common Lane (Dunnington), Holly Tree Lane, Hospital Fields Road, Moor Lane (Murton Orchard View, Shilton Garth, Southfields, Stablers Walk, The Copper Beeches, The Manor Beeches, The Old Village (Earswick), The Vale and Water Lane (Dunnington).

The council has also distributed fifty, one tonne, salt bags across the city for residents and businesses to access and refilled over 270 salt bins, ready for members of the public to use on the public highways and footpaths.
