ENERGY-SAVING homeowners in York are holding open house sessions to advise the public how they can generate their own energy.
The showcases are part of Energy Saving Week, which is run with the Energy Saving Trust and City of York Council.
Both homes use photovoltaic cell systems on their roofs, which generate more than enough electricity to power their homes, with the rest sold back to the national grid.
Open house events will be held at addresses in York today and next week.
Places are limited, and must be booked by phoning the Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 012.
Energy Saving Week runs until tomorrow, with events taking place across the UK, focussing on themes from insulation to microgeneration, and aiming to promote ways people can manage and minimise energy consumption in their homes.
