MEET Adia, the latest addition to the growing colony of meerkats living at Askham Bryan College.
The new arrival was born to mum Hattie and father Bertie on August 11 and is currently settling in with fellow meerkats in the college’s animal management unit.
Staff in the unit said Adia had already been seen displaying classic meerkat behaviour, such as standing on two legs.
The meerkats are just a small part of the animal population at the college.
It also includes rabbits and ferrets and more exotic creatures such as iguanas, alpacas and two kunekune pigs, Dilys and Doris.
