DOES anyone else find the ticketing system for children on First York Buses confusing?

For years now I have been asking for a child single for my ten-year-old daughter and paying 50p/60p/70p, depending on fare increases.

Now suddenly I am charged £1 and told I should have been asking for some kind of yo-yo fare instead.

Everybody knows what a “child single” is. Why confuse everyone with a “child yo-yo zone”?

It is worth knowing about, however, because “child yo-yo zone” is 30p cheaper than “child single”.
