A NEW Tesco Express store will open in York city centre later this week.
The launch of the store in Low Ousegate on Friday morning will be celebrated with a donation of £500 to local homeless charity, Safe and Sound Homes.
The charity supports young people in North Yorkshire who are homeless, or potentially homeless, by providing a safe place to live.
